a few changes from the previous games, but still worth playing

User Rating: 8.2 | Tony Hawk's Project 8 PS2
When I first got this game, I realized that there were some things missing from the last tony hawk game, like graffiti tagging, the bert slide, wall runs, front and back tucks, and more, and I almost brought the game back for a refund, but I continued through the game and found it just as fun as the rest in the series. The new addition, called Nail The Trick mode, is worth playing and very addictive though tricky at first. The level in the game you start in is the Suburbs; very small and somewhat boring, but you get out of there quickly.
Another new thing in this game is that there aren't different levels of difficulty in which to complete the game. For every goal in the game, there are 3 different difficulty levels: am, pro, and sick. The setup is different, but it's easy for beginners and very difficult for longtime fans and players of the series. Instead of earning money from different people like in thaw, you can earn "stokens" to pay for your board and other things. To get stokens, there are people around every level that will give you stokens if you pull off big tricks near them. Also unlike thaw, there are loading screens, and you can’t just walk into the skateshop; you can enter it from the pause menu. The customization for your skater has very few choices, so you feel limited in making your skater look like what you want. Even though your character doesn’t look too real, everyone else in the game is very realistic (for the ps2). You may complete every goal in the game and end up on the Project 8, but to beat the game 100%, you have to complete every goal in the game in the sick difficulty. I give the game a 7.6. If you’re a fan of the series or just interested in this game, you should check it out.
*note: I read the review over, and I was a little hard on the game, so I give it an 8.2.
