Isn't what I spect
Personally I liked THUG 2, because was the first TH game I played on second generation consoles. American Wasteland was fine, but Project 8 is like a "fast made" game. What I mean is the developers was just worried about the third generation game, wich is pretty good, but the old consoles game, I'ts like they don't put too much dedication to it.
The gameplay is alright. You can do all the tricks like every TH game. Thats good.
The sound is good, at least the soundtrack, but some sounds, like when you fall to the ground, just sounds really bad, like a bad quality audio.
The graphics, well, is just decent to a ps2 game. In THUG 2 all the skaters have cartoon-like faces, that thing look a little weird, but was still great. In American Wasteland the pro skaters faces was horrible. Only a few pros have a decent face, but some others looks really bad, but the created skaters have pretty good graphics. Now, in Project 8, the thing is upside down. The pros look good, very reallistic, but the custom skaters are horrible. There are only 3 faces to choose from on any style. There are 3 styles to choose: urban, kid and punk, with a total of only 9 very ugly faces. Also there are just a few clothes, wich is a very dissappointing thing.
The story of the game is than Tony Hawk is making a team of the best 8 amateurs skaters in town. Your goal is to enter that team. From the start, you will be in a small place, and you will be in place 200. You need to complete goals, talking to the people around the levels, and depending of the level of completion of the goal (bronce, silver or gold, or also know as am, pro and sick) you will be moving up the ranks. At the beggining you will advance like 10 places by just archieve a gold medal, but while you advance, you will need a lot of medals to advance just one position. Some good point about this game are the cutscenes, because there are well done videos, and the people will talk to you in first person. One of the most notable cutscenes is where Rodney Mullen teach you the Nail the Trick feature, a very cool replacement of create-a-trick. In NTT the camera will move to the side and will show your feet, and then you can control the feet moving the analog sticks. Project 8 is a good game in third generation, but in the old consoles, its just a dissapointment. But still you can find some positive points in this game. If you are unsure about buy this game or not, try to play it first (rent it or try to play some friend's game).
Now, to finish, the last TH games have been a little bad. They add some good new features, but have forget about the old stuff than made this game so fantastic. Lets hope TH Proving Ground will link together the old and the new stuff of this series, and bring the fun of this game back
