Put simply, Tony's 6th game on the PS2 is a complete disappointment.

User Rating: 4.7 | Tony Hawk's Project 8 PS2
I own every single Tony Hawk to date, from THPS1 on the N64 to Downhill Jam on the GBA SP. This is my first exception. I'm not getting a next-gen console anytime soon, so I rented it for my PS2. And thank God I didn't buy it or I would have wasted a whole day's worth of money on a piece of doggy crap. Why?

The Gameplay...
Same old, same old. The gameplay in this game is pretty much the same as THPS4 with the improvements of THUG and some classic mode thrown in for some spice.

The Graphics...
Easily the best part of the game. It's built on the THAW engine, with the same motion blur feature, but horrible-looking focus mode. It looks like some Photoshop maniac used six hundred shots of the blur tool.

The Sound...
As usual, the music is brilliant, with Punk, Rock, Metal, Hip Hop and Reggae songs to choose from. However, the board sounds have to go. Same old, same old, from the ollie sound or the clink of trucks on a rail.

The Value...
When it's over, it's over. I would never play it again even if you paid me.

Conclusion...
THP8 for the PS2 is an amateur developer's attempt at patching up a next-gen game to work on current-gen consoles, and stuffing up the process.
