Although a fun game overall, this game lacks a certain something that the 'Pro Skater' series exhibited.

User Rating: 7.2 | Tony Hawk's Underground 2 PS2
Unfortunately I believe that the Tony Hawk's series is beginning to go downhill. The game is turning into just another 'game'. I believe there are two types of games; those that leave a mark, and those that don't. The old-school Tony Hawks game left a mark, the Underground series did not. The Underground series introduced a new story mode. A mode in which the player creates a skater and goes on an adventure. In the first Underground, the story was acceptable and felt like a proper story. Whereas in Underground 2, the story is far-fetched and wacked. It just doesn't have what it takes to hang up there with the top games. Now the soundtrack is something that I widely find disappointing. The first three games featured outstanding soudtracks, filled with great artists. The Underground series has lost this value however. The soundtrack is now filled with hip-hop junk and repetitive tunes. Although, there are some tracks worth listening to, the bad tracks outnumber them. Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun playing this game. It's good for a laugh at times and is a pleasure to play, although the goals get mildly repetetive and boring. Neversoft opened up a new world of video game genre, and now they are beginning to close it.
