I am a long time player of the THPS series, so I walked away wanting a little bit more!

Thug2 is a great Tony Hawk game, but it doesn't quite live up to my expectations. Of course, as usual, it's got way more replay value than most other spots games out there, but it's just not what it used to be, especially considering what Thug 1 was. The new "Freakout" feature is really cool and gives hilarious new animations and diologue to the characters, much of the diologue being character specific, but it takes way to long, and for all the work you do mashing on the triangle button, it could give you more points, as by the time you get back on your board, you could have been half way done with a combo that would have brought you 10 times as many points as you got from your freakout, rendering it pretty much useless, except for just wanting to see the different animations every once in a while. The graphics hold up nicely, and the soundtrack is awesome, even the rap, but the rock really blows me away, they finally have Metallica! I'd like to hear more of that in other games as well. The story mode is fun, but the levels, in my opinion, are extremely stupid and dull, not to mention much smaller compared to THPS 4. A few of the are okay, like Skatopia, but most are lackluster. My favorite mode is classic mode, which I spent more time in than story. I just love the fact that I'm playing in Canada again, it was my favorite site in all of the THPS games! The one thing really missing from this game is online play, what the hell, it's XBOX, c'mon! The concept is really cool, but I hate Viva La Bam!, so I didn't like it when I felt like I was playing episodes from the stupid @$$ show. If you are a long time fan of THPS, then this is worth your while, but if your not, rent this one first, it's just not going to offer the same greatness that Thug 1or even THPS 3 or 4 will. By the way, where the hell is Kareem Campbell and Elissa Steamer!
