Another Great THPS Game!... Yet Still somewhat a bit of a letdown.
However in saying that, I did actually like the game. The storyline isn't immersive, but it sticks to tradition by being Fun and Outrageous, it keeps you playing just because you want to see what happens in those awesome, yet short, clips in between. So while it's not totally mind blowing, it's still enjoyable and fun to play through.
I'll just touch on the graphics by saying that they don't improve much, if at all, from the first THUG, however still nice to look at. The Soundtrack is somewhat diverse, by keeping the style from THUG and having 'Rock/Other', 'Punk' and 'Hip-Hop' genre's but, in my opinion, didn't have enough 'great songs', by which i mean not enough songs that get you right into the game and making the experience all that more fantastic. So in my opinion the soundtrack lacked and wasn't all that great... I ended up loading one of my own playlists into the game.
The gameplay kept to the tradition of previous Tony Hawk titles and had you moving through different levels and completing goals to ultimately unlock the next level and to see a clip in between levels. But like I stated previously, the storyline is good enough to keep you moving through the game so it doesn't seem so monotonous.
In respects to the 'Classic Mode' Included with the game, the gameplay was quite fun but might be somewhat difficult for a 'New Fan' of Tony Hawk's because getting some of the C-O-M-B-O's and some of the Scores in the later levels may prove difficult unless you're adept in pulling off precision combo's . In Classic Mode you are essentially doing what you did in the older titles of Tony Hawk's, and what makes it fun in this is you get to play it in some of the new levels from 'Story Mode' you also get to play classic levels from previous Tony Hawk Titles with a few graphical improvements.
Other features of the game still include the 'create-a-modes', allowing you to create new characters, tricks, skate parks, goals and graphics. As well as the 'Highscore/Freeskate' mode. So theres hours of extra playtime with those as well.
So all-in-all another great installment into the Tony Hawk Game Franchise, but unless you're an avid THPS fan this might be one to leave on the shelf... Unless you find it in the bargain bin lol
