Does everything Diablo 3 set out to do, but better and cheaper.

User Rating: 9.5 | Torchlight II PC
Torchlight 2 is a more conservative/ old school take on the isometric ARGP, but done incredibly smooth and well. Not dumbed down at all, the choices you make matter (e.g. skill builds). Combat is engaging and has a kick to it. Loot remained interesting for as long as I played, you don't get worthless junk all the time. Skills are well designed and a skill build that does more than add numbers. Enough customization to make each character unique.
It has a nice cell-shaded art style, fitting soundtrack, story is simple but sufficient. Includes all the bells and whistles (i.e. LAN support, mod support, OFFLINE MODE and no intrusive always-on DRM, you can pick any difficulty mode from the start!) Picked it up where the big name failed hard. Didn't even need a decade of development, but still all of this for a 1/3 price of a certain Blizzard title.
