A totally great but totally overlooked game? It's one other than Totally Rad!

This game Has to be one of the more overlooked games of its generation, but it's about time it started getting some credit. It was basicially a game where you played as this guy called Jake who was "like, totally cool dude" and was being taught magic by this wizard. Then, surprise, surprise, your "gnarly"girlfriend gets kidnapped. So you have to go out on an adventure to rescue her (and her "awesome"dad!) from various enemies. Being a Wizards apprentice, you have a pretty wide ranging list of spells at your disposal. The most basic of the se is a magic beam that work similarly to Megaman's buster. He also has some attacking spells like wind and fire attacks. Jake can also heal himslef and stop time for short periods. But the real powerhouses are his transformation skills. For a wizard's apprentice, Jake's pretty skilled. Difficulty-wise, this game is merciless. The little buster is alright earlier on in the game, but it won't be long until it becomes little more that a pea shooter. But that said, the transformations are more than capable of dealing with everything the game will throw at you(except for the lion one, it's useless). The offensive spells are pretty powerful, but they use up so much of your limited magic that they should be reserved for emergencies, if you plan to use them at all.

The game is kind of cut-scene heavy, and unless cheesy 80s dialouge really gets your heart racing, you'll be grateful it's skippable. the Sound is good, but it's also kind of an aquired taste. Overall, this is a game that if it happens of show up in a bargain bin, you shouldn't hesitate to pick up. You won't regret it.
