A free cuddly pet you can take anywhere.
Of course there's Kinect's Kinectnimals which is fine if you want to shell out $200 dollars to play with a virtual kitty, however on the Iphone, we have Touch Pet Cats (as well as a Dog version) which is basically a free, portable equivalent of Kinect's pet sim.
First off the game is over 20 megs to download so you'll need to hook your phone up to the internet to download it. Once you start, you get five breeds and a few colors to choose from, pick your new furry friend, give it a name and you're ready to go. No stupid backstory about pirate treasure and no annoying fairy lemur running his mouth nonstop.
As with pet sims, this is the sort of game you play for a few minutes and put down. You're kitty needs to be fed, cleaned, and entertained and the touch interface works well for the most part and even uses some motion features where you tilt your Iphone to make toys scoot across the room. Your kitty can also search the furniture to find coins which you then use to buy items either for your house or supplies for your pet.
One neat feature the game has is it will alert you if your kitty needs something, Your phone will meow at you to let you know if your pet needs to be fed, cleaned or just wants to play but this can be turned off. As you play with your kitty you earn XP and the more XP you get, the more items that can be made available.
It also offers an online network where you can interact with other pet owners and socialize your kitty and exchange items though if you have limited internet time on your phone you may want to use it sparingly.
Overall for a free game, it has a lot of content and a nice time waster.
