Button-mashing fun that's challenging and confusing at first, but quickly grows on you.
Gameplay: A is to jump, B/X or LThumbstick is to run. In each activity they pose a slightly different alteration on how to use them, and since there's no real help, you'll sometimes have to figure out how to complete the activity your doing. The 100M dash is simply running, then there's the leap where you run, then press jump and hold to reach an angle of your choice (45 is the preferred target point) and see how far you go. The activites are simplistic, and fun for the most part. The only really annoying one would have to be where you jump, set an angle, and vault over a horizontal pole. The more you play the 6 games, the better feel you'll get for perfecting them.
Xbox Live: You can face up to 3 others on Xbox Live in the basic single-player game, but now you take turns and watch each other. It's fun to hang out with the people playing Track & Field because they aren't annoying kids but instead really laid back, the only problem is the .5 second lag that happens in every online game you play no matter what the connection. As long as you remember this when, say, getting ready to jump, it's not too bad.
Graphics: Only the person you are and your competitors have enhanced graphics, it's a shame that so little was enhanced and I wish there could have been more. Then again, some people just emulate their games cheaply onto XBLA. It's still very nostalgic though.
Sound: An announcer talks, a gun goes off to signal the start of an activity, that's it.
Value: 6 activities that don't take to long paired with a decent multiplayer and a good community makes it just enough to dish out 400 MS points ($5). The achievements are simple once you get the activities down pat, but there's one or two difficult ones. Much to be desired though.
Reviewer's Tilt: Fun game, simple enough, I felt the need to dish out the 400 MS points, try the trial if you have any doubts.
