Definately a great game.

In the campaign, they took elements of Halo, and Gears of War, in terms of how the story is presented, how the levels are designed, and how the levels help tell the story. The Omega Supreme chapter is arguably one of the best buildups of a boss fight. There are sections in just about every level where you transform to travel from one place to another. There are 2 levels based on the jet transformers that is very open, and you are required to transform to jet mode to play.

The Multiplayer mode, they took the 3rd person view mode of Gears of War, and the gameplay of Modern Warfare 2. Even though it is 3rd person, and often compared to Gears of War, this is not a cover based game. Simply think controlling an FPS game from that 3rd person perspective. Vehicles are easy and smooth to navigate. Very simple to control. Only gripe is the lack of a way to make your character duck. May not be useful, but it just feels like it is missing.

Escalation Multiplayer is great. Downside is that there are only 2 levels. Hopefully they will add more in the future. The currency system adds a new twist to this type of gameplay. The tougher the enemy killed, the more currency you get, and the more of the level you can unlock to get better equipment and weapons.

Easily the best Transformers game to date. Expect a lot of references to the G1 1986 movie.

A few little gripes though. The lack of Frank Welker playing Megatron, takes away a certain G1 feel of the character. The voice of Starscream could have been cast by someone better. Although the voice of Soundwave almost makes up for this.
