Trials HD: Up and Down the Tracks, "one last time."

User Rating: 10 | Trials HD X360
You spend one hour after another trying to hone your skills to finally complete the game on extreme difficulty, and you realize that now that you have all "gold medals", there are "platinum medals" to be won. After another 2 or 3 hours, once you have nailed the platinum medals, you decide to look at the "friends" leaderboard, since you obviously earned bragging rights, right? Wrong. There is that annoying "pro" player who always has more achievements than you, a better score than you, and just overall better luck with games. And look at that, he has a better time than yours, by 4 seconds. OWNED. Now spend another 5 hours trying to beat that time without any fouls, without loosing the platinum medal, and while retaining your sanity and passion for the game. There you go, you have a Trials HD version of a slot machine or other casino game. Congratulations, you are hooked. Or...for those of you who give up, you just lost the game and your money.

The trials in this game are fairly straightforward. What you have to do on the 2D tracks is simply speed up most of the way, hold up or down to keep yourself down on the track when tilting, and brake right before the end of a big jump's landing. What gets complicating is the fact that the beginner level is the only level that does not make you commit an infinite number of fouls. The other levels will suck you into a constant restart of check points due to complicated tracks that force you into fouls. What is worse, in Tournament mode, you have to start all over to erase a foul and get that platinum medal.

In conclusion this game is great for keeping you playing and helping you kill time really fast, because even if you fail an uncountable number of times, you will still keep playing just to try to beat that track "one last time".
