Could've been better, but does a good job of being a decent party game with a large catalogue of questions.
There are a few game modes but none that can beat the original game, although that is the one that receives the least attention. Clear the Board is a good alternative though if you're playing alone, as it provides a decent challenge and the timer adds a sense of urgency that the other games can only offer within each question.
Weirdly there's no multiplayer which should've been the standard game. Unless you have plenty of friends and family who – 1. Like video games over board games, 2. Would actually play a trivia game, and 3. Can actually all be in the same place at the same time – I think it's pretty unlikely you'll be playing this game for very long.
The achievements are very strange as it's almost impossible not to cheat to get them! Most of them rely on multiplayer games and without the online option it just seems to be a case of setting up a second controller and then manipulating the game in order to unlock the achievements. The only difficult ones are for the single player mode where a great number of points lie. The fact that it is also a full 1000 point game means it's almost impossible not to get well over half of them.
Overall the game is a faithful recreation but the over reliance of geography questions even when it's not in the geography section is a bit overwhelming. Having to have knowledge of every city in all the major countries is a tall order. The graphics are fancy enough for a board game and the animations are pretty good for what they are showing. It's not a game I'd ever recommend but if it comes as a freebie or is nice and cheap it's worth a look, but only as a party game.
