Console pinball at it's finest.

I spent a lot of time in the arcades when I was younger, and have played my fair share of pinball games. It is probably a little surprising then, that while many former arcade rats say that pinball will never be as good on consoles, I heavily disagree. Mostly because True Pinball is my all time favourite.

True Pinball consists of four tables, Law and Justice, Babewatch, Vikings, and Extreme Sports. In all honesty, I didn't like the Babewatch table at all, but the rest were great. Vikings and Law and Justice in particular, were just sensational. Granted, the tables are much less complex than many i have played since, but there was just something about the themes, sounds, minigames and all-round playability that made them special.

Frankly I loved nearly everything about this game, the presentation, gameplay, ambient music, themes, voices... Granted, a lot of this probably comes down to individual taste, but it obviously catered to mine. It was also a visual treat for it's time! If I had to make one complaint, it would be that it isn't possible to save your high scores. Sadly, high scores are the entire point of a pinball machine...

This game is reasonably old now, and there have been some excellent pinball games released since. True Pinball however, remains my favourite, and is every bit as playable now as it was when I first brought it home in 1997.

If you enjoy pinball games, I would highly recommend checking out True Pinball.
