not so great looking, but good story

User Rating: 7.5 | Tsugunai: Atonement PS2

Gameplay: There's no voice-acting, and lot's of reading dialouge boxes--- br />

The Action:
The fightitng is based on a take-turn battle system--it's all pushing a button at the right time to block an attack but battles are avoidable too and are pretty easy--Also there isn't much player movement--- no jumping, swimming or anything besides running--but it was pretty necessary for certain tasks .The type of fighting was new to me, but I really began to like it---

Story:
I'm a fan of RPGs, and can find any story interesting. And I liked what it had to offer-- I understimated it, as it kinda had a slow start , but as the story progresses, it gets better. It's helpful to give time to run around and talk to characters, they'll sometimes give you hints on where to go.

Levels:
There's only about, five or six places to go, in the same town---and the game's progression is based on revisits to the places. There are very interesting side stories and you may even get pretty attatched to the characters

Overall--It's best you rent this one if you really want to give it a try-- I wouldn't reccomend it to somebody who doesn't usually play RPGs it starts slow somewhat--but it gets pretty good, you just need to give it a chance---the more I progressed the more better things I had to say about it . Anyway, the guys at gamespot may have rated it pretty low ---but they I think they missed the better of it-- it has flaws, but I got past it once I got into the story-- just try it out
