The best N64 shooter ever made.

User Rating: 9 | Turok 2: Seeds of Evil N64
9 years ago, when Turok 2 was released, I ran to the local Blockbuster and rented it. What I was about to experience was years of enjoyment. Console FPS's were still just catching on. Every time a FPS was released on the N64 I would get excited. Now that Consoles were powerful enough to replicate the PC, things were starting to change for gamers that grew up with Super Mario and Legend of Zelda. First off, the graphics. Quite possibly the best on the N64. In fact I judged all N64 game's looks by the standard Turok 2 set. It is still a beauty to look at even today. Turok himself looked generations better than any other video game character up to that day. And the enemies weren't bad either.Every opponent was highly detailed and moved realistically. The hit detection was spot on. Wherever you hurt these baddies, expect for them to register that hit realistically. The music and sound effects are just classic. It has the greatest soundtrack of any action game. Period. The Star Wars Worthy score will make you feel like a man on a mission. The audio sounds great for a game that had to comply with the N64 limitations. The maps are massive. No other FPS has maps quite like these. For one, they are massive. The maps are hours long and have mazelike, although for some odd but great reason, the maps are confusing but are easy to get around thanks to the memorable landmarks. They are also non-linear. You can cut off the main road to find secret items and weapons to help you out. Oh, and the boss battles are the best yet in any game. The multiplayer is somewhat flawed but surprisingly good. The maps are basic and small, but the gameplay is what makes it work. I have never been amazed by any other FPS like this one. Maybe many other games have surpassed it in terms of gameplay, but back in '98, this was unbeatable. I actually played this game longer than any other game I owned. If you still have a N64, get this game.
