Very arcade style action. Kind of like Bomberman, except it's for cars.

Though I'm not the arcade action buff type, I've seen enough arcade games to say that Twisted Metal: Head On does features one of the most intense and difficult arcade battles that I've come across. The normal levels are fun and challenging, especially the mini games, but the boss levels towards the end are extremely unforgiving. Shamelessly, I have to use cheats to get by just to watch the endings of the characters I played.

There are many characters each with distinct appearances and special abilities to choose from, which makes the setup like those Street Fighter games, nice! One good thing about this is that the characters have such interesting backstories that you wouldn't mind replaying the same levels over just to see what happens to the characters in the end.

The car designs are cool and the rest of the graphics are typical low poly types, just that the sound design is a little weak, nevertheless, this would be a good buying choice for arcade lovers (if you're not a Twisted Metal fan that is) especially if you fancy Virtua On or Bomberman.
