But mom! Why can't we get the name brand Elder Scrolls? Why do we have to go generic?
With that said, it's ultimately up to the individual whether you'll enjoy this game at all. I was looking for an ES styled game to pass the time while waiting for the next batch of rpgs on the 360 and decided 10$ used was a good enough price to give this game a shot. I pretty much got exactly what I expected for my money. COntrols are ok at best, voice acting is horrendous, the story is barely there and the game world is filled with enough bugs to make cockroaches jealous. None of this however makes this game un-playable. It simply makes this a game you need patience to trudge through.
The game-world is fairly huge. The quests are plentiful. The loot is decent. It honestly has everything a good rpg needs to keep you interested. It just lacks any form of polish whatsoever. The developers clearly had bigger aspirations than their ability could accomplish. However, this lends high hopes for the sequel as with enough improvements on this game engine, this game could be great instead of mediocre. If you have a few bucks to spare and need a good time killer/rpg, I definitely recommend this game. If you're still enjoying Oblivion or Fallout 3 (or any number of other rpgs), I'd just get something else. Still, I'd at least try to find the demo if I were you and give it a shot. You might be surprised.
