Struth!
Now the story is about the Australian-spirited thylacine Ty playing with his wallaby friend in a fun game of tag. He falls through a hole and a ancient dude tells him about 5 different boomerang masters, with two of them being his parents, being sent to another world by the bird-brained Boss Cass. He used 5 different medallions to do so, and is searching for them to this day and it's up to Ty to get all of them before he does.
Now the in-game graphics are pretty good, but the cutscenes are absolutely gorgeous. Voice acting is really good. The voices really match with the characters appearance and personality, and because I really like Australian language. It's just me, mate!
Now gameplay is simple 3D platforming fun. There are several different boomerangs to change the gameplay. To get these you collect these golden gears which are scattered around each level. Thunder Eggs are also important. To get them you need to complete the missions, do several chores for the characters and complete time trials. They power a machine built by the koala scientist Julius, and he apparently needs almost every single Thunder Egg in each level, which is kind a chore.
The major complaints I have with the game is the scattered Thunder Eggs (as mentioned above), and that the levels are too big. You can easily get lost trying to do a mission, it's tedious.
Other than the minor complaints, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is without a doubt a averagely fun game that you will really enjoy.
