A good start for the UFC franchise, but far from perfect.

I really enjoy this game,i am a huge mma/ufc fan and thq does a good job bringing a close to true life ufc experience to the video game world.

Graphics; I give a 8 out of 10,the player models are very accurate and i love the attention they gave to the crowd, ring girls, corner men and referees graphically, but my small beef with the graphics is the frame rate ,i believe the game runs at 30 frames per second and the game would look a lot better running at 60 frames per second,i just wish the animations where a lot smoother, and i would like to see muscle flex animations added to game in the future.

Sound; i give a 8 out of 10,The commentary is very accurate to its real life counterpart,it sounds like you are actually watching the pay per view event ,but i would like to hear more realistic and accurate crowd reactions in its newer version.

Gameplay; i give a 7 out of 10,Most of the action you see in a UFC fight you will see in this game, they have a good amount of signature techniques but not everything like machida leg sweeps. They also did a good job with the computer A.I. and fighter tendencies,i wish this game had a head movement modifier command similar to the fight night games i believe it would bring a lot more realism to the strike game, i think its unnecessary to have two block buttons,i suggest them using the the right trigger as the head movement modifier. The striking detection can be little off and way off sometimes, like some strikes barely connect and its scored as a knockout and sometimes strikes don't even connect and are scored as knockouts, striking accuracy does not matter which is disappointing.I love what they did with the ground game and transitions and the overall control and feel of the ground game was smooth, good job THQ.

Overall this is a very good game and a great start to the UFC franchise,of course it has a lot of improving to do but it is THQ's first time at it and they did a good job but there is a lot of room for improvement .
