forget the hard hitting game pride that came out on ps2,it was solid i agree and also tapout on the xbox...ufc undisputed is in everyway a new game..
the game in brief-
exhibition matches, a solid career mode, some classic matches all add up into a wonderful fighting experience.the career mode which is the best starts off with either creating a unique player or taking an existing one and training him up all the way, training is either by working out with fitness equipments that get upgraded on the way or by practise and training with masters. then you allot the points you make into upgrading your player.the character is customizable even in between the game and you earn sponsors after your good fights.email alerts on your matches, choosing opponents, review on your fights, what others think of you all add to making a realistic feeling to the career. sponsor patches add on to your trunks and you keep upgrading them.fights are easy till about the 10th seed and then it gets real tough and you need proper strategy to take out your opponents which is only knock out till that happens, either in the 1st round or till it goes.
the combat system is solid and the best part of the game making you sweat out a lot for a good punch that lands on your off guarded face can finish the match.you need to be on full alert throughout the fight and need to prepare for defensive moves quickly that is as elaborate as the offensive moves you place.wounds and blood are realistic to the core and your player sweats out as the match progresses making it very realistic.i even noticed that after placing a few hard kicks, say on the stomach at the same area, it started becoming red and footprints start appearing as like a real kick.a hit on the face reacts as and where you place the hit.the whole joystick is mapped out well enough to accomodate the whole combat system.
playing with your friends is a different experience from the usual fighting games we play and its fun.
graphics is excellent for a fighting game that is realistic.the feel is very well created visually to even a sweat that trickles down through the body.
now the only thing i noticed that can be called a setback is that the whole thing gets a little repetitive after a while, say after you finish the career mode once.so maybe you wouldnt bother after a while.but thats insignificant to what it offers,
a very good game, well made and to top it all, a solid combat system with outstanding graphics and overall quality.
