Great game but very tiring.

To begin with, i got this game not long after it came out and at first i thought it was brilliant, i recognised all the fighters and thoroughly enjoyed making my own fighter (The most awesome-super-cool fighter ever, who was of course modlled on me. Anyway ill stop talking about how awesome i am and get back to the review.) but after a while of playing through career i found the game getting quite tedious. But before i talk about that ill tell you a bit about my experience of playing the game. At the start of the game i wasnt sure on how to grapple, throw and do submissions so i quickly found the easiest tactic is to just keep launching heavy head punches and eventually you will KO your opponent (not very clever AI) but after a while of button mashing my way to easy 1 round KOs i decided to learn some grapples and throws so that i could look more awesome in the octagon (The UFC term for ring just incase you didnt know) instead of throwing haymakers like some angry drunk guy. After about half an hour of learning grapples and stuff i had finally learned how to chuck people about but much to my unhappieness every time i try this in a real match my opponent reverses it and beats me up so the grapple system needs improvement. The graphics of UFC are pretty good and the fighters look pretty realistic (Here comes the but) but the bruising and cuts on the face are very repetitive i mean for example if you hook an opponent multiple times his face looks much the same as if you use any other head attack.
In conclusion this is a decent fighting game with a steep learning curve but i wouldnt really recommend it to many people just UFC fans or people who like wrestling games as i have noticed it is similar in ways. I wouldnt recommend paying more than £30 for this game unless your sure you want it also there is a demo on the marketplace so try it out as its FREE.
