Ultimate MK3 is prefectly re-rendered onto the Live Arcade, and it's one of the arcade titles to do so.

User Rating: 8 | Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 X360
PROS:
Plays the same as the original, if not better
Achievements range from easy to challenging
Looks good from all concepts

CONS:
Getting used to the controls will make veterans of the game appear like novices for a short while

The Mortal Kombat series has been going on for about 15 years, and the gameplay rarely changes, and with the release of "Armageddon" for last gen consoles and the Wii, you start thinking that the new MK titles aren't as good as the classics. And now that UMK3 is on the Marketplace, it's time to get reaquainted with the good old days of '95.

With the game being slightly harder than before, Motaro and Noob Saibot are almost impossible to beat, it makes for some gentle frustration, but it doesn't bring down the game's pefect recollection of the classic UMK3. One of the Live Arcade version's improvements is the sound and the ability to RUN (whcih was taken out of the SNES and GEN versions). The soundtrack now sounds even better than the arcade machine did, especially if you have surround sound or a Dolby 5.1 system.

In all, Ultimate MK3 is the better-buy if your picking between this and "Armageddon" on the other consoles, if you need to choose.
