Spider-Man at his BEST!!!
The web-swinging has seen a face lift. You still attach your webbing to specific points as you did in Spider-Man 2 but its soo much more fluid. Just as hold of the trigger button(Xbox) and off you go. While on the web you can move up the line and accelerate your swinging all with the press of a button. Web-swinging has never been more fun.
Combat has seen a major face lift, you are encouraged to jump between targets while in combat. You can do this in many ways, such as bounding off walls or other opponents to attack you targeted enemy. Once they are down, a quick web shot will make sure they stay down.
The main thing thats highlighted in Ultimate Spider-Man is the use of VENOM as a playable character. VENOM is exactly how you would perceive him, a massive force that is incapable of defeat. He has 2 primary attacks: A claw swipe and a tendril attack. The game states that the tendril attack is for a group of foes at a distance, and is not as powerful as the claw swipe. While this may be true, the tendril attack is mighty deadly. VENOM can also grab his enemy's and dispatch of them in many ways, 2 are not for the squeamish. It is an absolute blast to play as VENOM, his destructive nature is shown so well with his combat. O yea, not to mention the guy can chuck cars as far as half a block.
The boss battles are incredible, the combat is incredible, playing as VENOM is a true treat. Overall the game hits on pretty much all cylinders. If you are a fan of th USM comic, then pick this game up.
