Ultimate Spiderman is another decent Spidey spin, but the old formula is beginning to feel stale this the 5 time around.

Based on the newest incarnation of the Spiderman comic, and just as this shares many similarities to its previous versions, this new Spiderman game just does not do much to improve on its past accomplishments. It still offers a good amount of action and variety (especially by including Venom), and this is probably the best looking of the Spiderman games. However, the story is a bit broken and hard to follow (why the hell was Wolverine in that bar at that moment anyway), and this is basically the same game as Spiderman, Spiderman 2: Electro's Revenge, Spiderman the movie, and Spiderman 2 the movie. Good to just rent, especially for comic fans, but to buy it, especially with its short story, might be overdoing it.
