Better than the 2 movie games, this is a pure action game that hardcore gamers will appreciate.

This is a cel-shaded Spiderman game based on the Ultimate Spiderman comic book series. So no more Tobey Maguire here, but that's a good thing because the recent spiderman games offered no challenge. The combat feels really nice and fluid. Web-slinging isn't quite what it used to be. Throw in numerous challenging bosses and the ability to play as Venom and you have a fun game. The story mode takes about 7 hours to beat. However, it can get quite tough so when you factor in having to replay stages and bosses it can hit 10 hours. After completion you can play as venom and do a gta-style destruction minigame.
Exploring the city, you will find tons of challenge missions and race-type missions. These aren't as much fun as the story mode, but if you so desire the story is 100% replayable due to its arcadey nature.
Verdict: Action games like this are very rare. Ignore Gamespot's review, as their editors get paid by publishers to rate certain games higher. Pick this one up in a bargain bin. I got mine for 15$ and it's better than most games I pay full-price for.
