Unexpected Good non-comic readers

Before I played this game my last Spiderman game experience was from the movie turned game which turned my stomach. I will defend until I am proven wrong thatthe last great Spiderman game was on the Sega Genesis. Now lets talk Ultimate Spiderman. For those of us that prefer our comic book games actually based on the comics then this game is the current gold standard when it comes to looks, gameplay, accuracy to source material and just plain fun. The developers went through great lengths to ensure a good look for the game and a pretty decent gameplay mechanic in that it is very easy to pick up and play. But the game get repetitive very quickly as the missions are not very clever. More than half the missions consist of optional (really mandatory to advance the game) race missions which are quite boring and in some cases difficult due to the odd camera positions at times. The story seems very good but the game had entirely too much filler, not enough meat. They are heading in the right direction. I would suggest that in order to sell in higher volumes for their next game that they go into the Marvel Comics archives and translate to a game one of the classic stories. That way you get all the old comic book readers that still play games and the new generation game players that have never read the story hooked. I for one would have prefered the real story of how the Sybiot suit really became Venom. And I am pretty sure it would have made for a much longer game with more relevant missions beside beating up the same group of street thugs every now and again. How about making the story of Spiderman/Venom/Carnage into a modern 3D game. The original on SNES/GEnesis sold tons.
