Ultimatly New Spin On Spidey
User Rating: 8.1 | Ultimate Spider-Man PS2
This game proves cel-shading does work. It gives the game a whole fresh new look like Zelda did In Windwaker but it's more needed this time because it's meant to give it a comicbook feel and it really works the way some sequences are made into panels for action occuring simutaneously. It lives up to what we've expected from the previous Spider-Man games we've seen and delivers good combat system action with tons of moves you can upgrade and buy which is really cool. Boss fights are all original in concept and give you various new arenas too fight in that are usually interactive in the way Spidey needs to defeat them. But what takes a way from this is the game is just too short with alot of chase scenes taking away from actual story line progression. Though those scenes are not always hard they are annoying after awhile. Side Missions are usually races which are a pain to beat depending on the difficulty and Venom once unlocked is so cool; but you don't get a story or even get to play the story mode with him. He just freely roams the city doing stuff you had to do to get points and you can destroy things with him until you die and rank up a score. Overall it's a really good game, just way too short and way too many fillers. I liked it alot though it's just that to get more out of the game you had to keep racing after you beat it which just gets really frustrating.
