Comix Zone 2!

User Rating: 8.5 | Unbound Saga PSP
Unbound Saga is sort of like an old school beat-em-up and this game has to be one of the best I've played. I haven't finished this game yet so I dont want to tell you anything about the story, but I will get real deep into the gameplay.

Alright, so as I've said before, this game is like an old school beat-em-up. This is perfect for this type of game because the comic-book feel just fits right into the gameplay and makes the game alot more... fun. The actual gameplay is really fun because of the simplicity of the controls. You use the d-pad or the analog stick to move around. You use the O button to punch, X to kick, Square to grab enemies, Triangle to throw your enemy/object, R to pick up objects (and you can pick up almost anything you find lying on the street), L to block, Start to pause (of course), and SELECT to switch between characters. I know me explaning the controls on paper sounds confusing but you'll see the simplicity once you try out the game.

In the game, you play as two characters. A man and a woman. The man is alot more tougher and powerful than the woman and can pick up objects. But he cant jump. The woman can jump and hide in the shadows to sneak up on enemies. The woman also has these powers called "dark magic". These attacks are really powerful and can help you clear out enemies faster.

The graphics are really great. I like the cell-shady look and feel of the game. It makes you feel like your actually in the comic-book world. Also, when you clear out a set of enemies, the enemies spawn in front of you when this hand comes out and writes/draws the enmies on the screen. Kinda like in Comix Zone. You also jump from screen to screen like in Comix Zone too.

the sound is good for the PSP standards. Just your usual punch and kick hits. Nothin mind-blowin here.

Basically, you play this game like you would any other beat-em-up game. I like to think of this game as Streets of Rage mixed with Comix Zone or Comix Zone 2. This game has alot in relation to Comix Zone (as you can see) and is quite nececcary to call it Comix Zone 2.

This game, to me, has to be one of the best games for the PSP. It does alot of things right and rarely anything wrong. You'll get accasional pop-ups here and there but thats probably the only thing. Oh and sometimes when you power off your PSP, the sound will lag on until you get to the next text session. Other than that, this game is really close to being one of the best Beat-Em-Ups of all time.
