Uncharted 2 is an experience that lives up to its hype, and will definitely be remembered as one of the best.
Do you like shooters? I'm talking any type- I mean, they both have mostly the same mechanics- you point and shoot, right? Well, this game will appeal to First Person shooter fans, as well as Third Person shooter fans, as well as those who haven't really tried (or dislike) the shooter genre. I can guarantee that you will at least enjoy this game, and even if it somehow manages to disappoint you, you will still like the game. I will compare this game to its predecessor, Drake's Fortune.
First off, yes, there is Multiplayer. I was very skeptical, at first, because I was never a fan of single player games having multiplayer. I mean, multiplayer in single player games was a lot of fun, I was just never really supportive of it. However, I can tell you, Multiplayer is a lot of fun. You won't be abandoning it anytime soon, I guarantee you that.
Second, Single Player is a very impressive experience that you will remember as one of the best gaming experiences you have had. The story is that of a cliche action movie that will remind you of Indiana Jones, but it is still a lot of fun and works well with the game. The voice acting is excellent, but all these little details look insignificant when compared to the amazing gameplay.
All these positives, and you probably ask, where does this game not deliver? Well, let me tell you, you will get frustrated at the cover system. I have yet to see a game with a cover system that works well, so this isn't that big of a deal to me, personally, but it was frustrating getting killed due to my character rolling around looking for other cover spaces when all I wanted to do was move up out of cover. Anyways, those are my experiences.
And platforming, while fun to watch, isn't exactly "great". For the most part, when you jump from ledge to ledge, either you make it or you don't; it's as simple as that. If you fall off, you start back at the beginning of the platforming section. There isn't anything thrilling about it- it's all there for you to climb on. No second paths, no tricks... just jumping and hoping you make it, until you get into combat.
Overall, this game is definitely a must-buy for the PS3. You will enjoy the heck out of his game, and you will enjoy it for quite a while. Do yourself a favor, and buy yourself Uncharted 2. Even if you don't get quite what you expect, it will still be worth the money, I can guarantee that.
