Uncharted 2: Among Thieves gets you right into the action and keeps you there from start to finish.

Back in 2007, when uncharted: drakes fortune came out, it was one of the first big ps3 exclusive names out there, and for some it was a dissapointment. Personally, i thought the first game got the atmosphere and style just right, but some problems with control mechanics, and a fairly boring story made for a good, but not great game.

Uncharted 2 makes up for all the problems of the first game, while also adding new environments to climb, shoot, and platform on, such as ice caves, a moving train, and of course, shangrila, a much lengthier campaign, a captivating and driving story, and a pretty great online function.

The campaign is one of the best i've ever played. it is quite long, has a great story, flawless controls, and never feels boring. You won't find bad excuses to put in hard-to-control vehicle segments, like your average game. And you won't be unlocking lots of new gameplay mechanics, but instead the games' variety comes from the plethora of different environments, enemies, and frankly, gameplay that never gets old.

The online for Uncharted 2 sticks to the same gameplay as the campaign, and feels much like it. a couple flaws hold it back from being great, and it probably won't take you away from Halo or Call of Duty or whatever other multiplayer-based shooter you're currently playing, but considering that uncharted 2 is a campaign-based game the multiplayer is gladly accepted. A couple flaws i should point out that i didnt like about the multiplayer:
- it takes a lot of shots to die, making the cover system less useful
- there are cheap weapons such as rocket launcher
- you always start with the same weapon and have to pick up weapons as you go
- there is no split-screen multiplayer
- while you can unlock boosters as you level up, more incentive to rank up would have been nice

overall, uncharted 2 has one of the best campaigns i have ever played, and with a great story, and exhilirating online multiplayer, it's hands down my favorite ps3-exclusive game to date, as well as being my favorite game of 2009.
