Beautiful and fun game that suffers from weak story and insultingly easy puzzles
User Rating: 8.5 | Uncharted 2: Among Thieves PS3
Overall I enjoyed playing through Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The graphics are beautiful, the settings are great, and the combat is reasonably fun. Unfortunately the puzzles are so simple that they insult the intelligence of most people who would be able to finish this game. The platforming is beautiful and challenging, but sometimes in a way that is so annoying that I was forced to look at a walkthrough online to find out which ways to jump in basically a snow covered screen. While this is challenging, it is in an annoying way rather than an intellectually stimulating way. The shooting is fun and the cover is good, and as some other reviews have mention, there are some levels where you fight while buildings are falling down, trains are crashing, etc. Although both the story and game play are strong, they both become relatively weaker as the game progresses, and in retrospect some of my favorite levels were towards the very beginning of the game. I should mention that the single player campaign is very long and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves also has a multiplayer component, although I have not tried the latter.
