A solid game partially ruined by an incredibly abysmal story.
There is one major problem that I have with this game, and it is the plot. The first 2 entries were cheesy as hell but they made it a lower priority for the game. Here, not only is it more important for the game, but they added pretty much every cliche possible. You have the witty yet lovable protagonist, the love interest, the comic relief, and the other female that perhaps may have been the love interest, and of course the villains. They all have one thing in common and that is that they don't have any character progression other than anything that is very basic and formulaic. As the story progressed, I ended up getting more and more frustrated to the point that I was actually angry and yelling at the screen.
Literally anyone could write this, because it was just a matter of following formulas. They were even some used that I didn't think existed anymore because they were so silly. Here are some examples:
SPOILER WARNING
You thought I was dead didn't you? Well guess what I'm not.
Help! I'm the villain and am about to die! Save me protagonist! Alright that sounds like a GREAT idea!
SPOILER WARNING
This suffers from the same issue as in the last 2 entries where there were so many opportunities for either Drake or for the villain to kill each other, making the whole process easier, yet for some reason they choose not to.
If you don't mind a cheesy plot then you will most likely still love this game, especially for its multiplayer aspect. It is just as addicting as the 2nd part, and the co-op ones are incredibly challenging. If you love stealth, I found that it can be used a lot more here. There is one point near the end of the game where an airport is, and I have spent many attempts trying to kill everyone there stealth-fully. It took a lot of tries but it was still incredibly fun.
