Good game, but feels too familiar.

Maybe it's because the jump between Uncharted 1 and 2 was so vast. Or maybe I was expecting too much for the 3rd game in the series. Uncharted 3 is a good game, no doubt about it. But it's just way too familiar. And the story IMO isn't as strong as Uncharted 2. Previous characters we love come and go like nothing and the ending was underwhelming. I've played Uncharted 2's single player multiple times and it never got stale. With Uncharted 3, I was dreading to go back and get the Crushing trophy. Multiplayer is beefed up with more features like the ability to customize your class, skin, etc. Overall, it's a solid package where the standout is anything co-op. Although I prefer co-op arena. I don't really like how they added the buddy system to the competitive multiplayer mode. You really feel cheated and it's very difficult to run around alone because most of the time backup is just around the corner. It's also especially frustrating when you have an incompetent partner. Uncharted 2 had a better competitive mode, nuff said. The whole treasure system is a nice addition though and really adds to the replay value. Also, adapting the Call of Duty prestige system was a good move, although unoriginal. In the end, I would buy this game. It's a solid addition to the franchise, just don't get yourself too excited about it. Uncharted 2 is the better game.
