In 2007 Naughtydog released their first Uncharted. It might not have blown me off the chair but it definately made an impression on me. They had made a game which combined Tomb Raiders platforming and treasure hunting with a third person action game. But what impressed on me most was the characters. It starred Nathan Drake, witty adventurous guy with no sense of danger; Sully, his partner who seemed a little too old for that type of occupation; and Elena, the reporter who happens to end up in their mess. Of course there was a whole bunch of bad guys too. In the second game they took the series to a much higher level and let everything loose. It was with this game I was blown off the chair. As Jerry Mguire said it "had me at hello". From the opening scene I was totally sucked into this adventure that really had everything. A great adventure, a lot of bombastic action with amazing setpieces, a love story and a great villain. I knew now that Uncharted would never disappoint me. Then the third game came.. I had heard already before playing it that people were a bit disappointed at it, so my expetations were a little bit lower on this one. And at first, I wasn´t totally convinced, it started a little slow. But when it took up speed... Oh yeah, Nate is back! The third game is a little more focused on the firefights, which isn´t the games strongest side maybe, but I found it fun. But mostly as always, it´s the story, the characters that are absolutely wonderful. And the graphics.. I´ve never seen anything like it to be honest, it´s really stunning. There were also puzzles in the game, when you are in a tomb or something like it, and they were tricky and fun. Naughty Dog really went wild with the setpieces this time. There are a lot of really cool scenes. I don´t know what more to say, nothing more needs to be said. If you loved Among Thieves, your gonna love Drakes Deception.
