Uncharted once again proves it's the best franchise on the PS3.
Then I put in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves right after I beat the first one. I walked away from the credits of that game with a new favorite videogame series. I have beaten Uncharted 2 numerous times and each time was just as satisfying as the last. So when I finally got hold of my precious Uncharted 3 I was a little skeptical about it living up to the second of the series. In fact I got the game only a few hours before I had to go into work and held off on playing it just so I wouldn't have to leave the epic hanging and go to work. And the second I got off work, I turned off my phone, logged out of Facebook and turned on my PS3.
This game was addicting, fun and exciting from the very get go. After a few hours playing into the story I wondered why I doubted Naughty Dog and their ability to make an amazing game. This is truly the best Uncharted yet. The story isn't as strong as Uncharted 2 and the villains aren't as evil as Lezaravich, but I would still put it above it's predecessor. The writing for this game is still phenomenal if not better than U2. Uncharted 3 has SEVERAL moments I will never forget, and goes almost above the term "cinematic". I think it's safe to say that Nathan Drake is the Indiana Jones of the videogame world.
I was completely lost in the world this game gave me to play in. When Nate was stumbling through the desert seeing mirages I felt as if I were there with him. I even felt the urge to get a drink of water after playing through that part. When he was staring at a giant window with the ocean on the other side and the window started to crack... I started panicking a little. Things like this happened throughout the game. Uncharted 3 puts Drake through his best adventure yet.
One of the new parts of the game (and most enjoyable in my opinion) is the melee system they introduced. Sometimes i actually preferred to fight an enemy hand to hand rather than shoot him with my gun. It's like a mixture of God of War,Arkham Asylum and Assassin's Creed. It works out very well and Nate has a few moves up his sleeve for a final blow that made me giggle like a little school girl. The shooting it similar to the last two games, which I can't complain about. They were pretty decent with that portion.
Overall the single player alone is worth my $60, giving me an experience I will never forget.
The Multiplayer is surprisingly addicting. I didn't expect this at all. I thought uncharted 2's MP was alright at the most, nothing too special about it. This time around they made it very very fun. You haven't lived until you played team deathmatch on a map consisting of jumping between jeeps who are chasing after an airplane... That is literally the level. It's a very thrilling experience. The level up system is very similar to the Black Ops level up system. You receive money and XP every match. The money buys weapons and upgrades while the XP gets you new levels and unlocks certain perks. All of this is very addicting.
It's simple... Buy this game. You WILL NOT be disappointed.
