Uncharted 3 is one of the best games of the year. Lets just get that out there. This past month there have been a lot of great games that were released. One of the games that sticks out to me is without a doubt Uncharted 3. While this is a great game I must say that it is not as good as Among Thieves. The story, while still very good and excited, was not up to the level that Uncharted 2 achieved. After the credits rolled in Uncharted 3 I was still left with some questions. For instance, "what the heck was with the spiders and what was their connection to the plot?" (Not going to go into anymore plot holes because I don't want to give anything about the story away) I will say this, the back story of Sully and Drake was very well done. It added MORE depth to already 3 demential characters (didn't think that was possible). The platforming sections were fun and never really got old. The graphics are amazing, perhaps to amazing. I was absolutely immersed into this game until texture popin or something fell through the geometry ruined that immersion for me. These time however were rare and few. You see the graphics were so good that even the slitest mistake becomes noticeable, and that is a very good problem to be having. Well done NaughtyDog. The final levels of the game are perhaps some of the best in the series, they were very exciting this is due to the improved emphasis on close up combat. Instead of vehicle sections the game throughs horses in to it. Now horses are generally in most games hard and annoying to try and control, but not so with Uncharted. No they are very easy and fun. I was worried when I heard that there would be horses in the game, but looking back it was without a doubt one of my favorite levels in the game. Back to the story, the thing that worries me is that NaughtyDog will make another game and it will have the same formula (Drake finds clue -> Drake looks for treasure that has been hidden -> treasure was hidden for some dark reason) If NaughtDog makes a new Uncharted they need to do something different.
