The best movie I have played.

User Rating: 8 | Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception PS3
It is an awesome game, all around. Here is the run down.

Graphics: 10/10 The scenes are amazing. The facial expressions are great. The textures are great. Lighting, awesome. Sully and Drake went into a cavern, and it was dark, when Sully lit a torch the effect was awesome. Top notched graphics.

Sound: 10/10 The music is perfect. The sound effects are great.

Voice acting: 10/10 Very well done.

Story: 10/10 An awesome story, with very interesting and likable characters. The banter between them adds tremendously to the fun.

Gameplay: 6/10 This is by far the weakest element on the game. It does not ruin the rest of the elements, but is definitly sub-par. They added hand to hand combat, which I like. But it does not make up for the otherwise blaa controls. The controls are OK, but, for instance, when I take cover behind a knee wall and someone flanks me to the side, when I look to the side and aim it takes me out of cover, and sometimes I cannot see where I am trying to look. When aiming normally, the ratio seems messed up, where as when you press progressively the reticule will go slow, to a little faster, to way too fast.

I played much of the game yesterday, and would have given it a 10/10. I got up to the "Abducted" chapter and turned it off for the night. When I played through the "Abducted" level today, the gameplay flaws became all the more obvious, as the perfect ratio of story, puzzle, parkour, and action turned into only parkour and action, in a very, very long level. They threw more enemies at you, and with the poor controls, it made it kind of tedious. There was also a section where you are walking in the desert, and at first the effect was cool. The camera panned out as you move Drake over the sand, and you understand the hugeness of the desert, and the feeling of doom. But they way over did this as you go through a number of these desert senquences, and it become ridiculous, and time wasting.

It is, at times frustrating to play, not because it is hard, but it becomes hard because of the frustrating controls. Maybe I oversold this point, because the controls do not ruin the game, but does bring it down a notch or 2.

I tried to play multiplayer, but after 2 outings, I really do not care to play it, because of the poor controls.

That said, it is possible buy, or a definite rental, as the movie and acting is awesome and should be experienced, and it is fun to play, but because of it's control flaws, I do not see much replay value here.
