A step in the wrong direction if you ask me.
The story is not even close to as good as the second one let alone the 1st one, there were just no differential parts in the story, they are not original and it just makes me feel like the story is staying in the same direction as its predecessors and feels a little bit to close to them. Remember in the first Uncharted when you would shoot someone and it would take like 50 million shots to kill them, ok I'm exaggerating, I know that jokes getting old(if you read my Uncharted 2 Review), on the second one they got it right and it was a lot better, but on this one they followed in the steps of the first one, Why? Really why? Not only does it take a lot of shooting to kill people, the hit detection seems kind of off to me for some reason in this game also.
The fire fights are alright but as you get to the end of the game the difficulty definitely increases and not just by a little by a lot and that's fine but it's a cheap difficulty. First of all everybody knows that just in general Uncharted is an extremely hard game that's why they had to make a very easy difficulty, well I chose to go with the easy difficulty, I figured get that one out of the way and I will go to the harder difficulty after. There is something I want to ask Naughty Dogs, Do you know what easy means? Easy means easy so make it that way, there is no reason easy difficulty needs to be hard it's ridiculous. As you get to the end of the game Uncharted 3's difficulty spikes by quite a bit, but it's not a difficulty where you keep playing and getting better every time, nope, it's a cheap difficulty, the enemies are all around you and there is no way to find the perfect cover, so you basically have to get lucky. There is also no final boss, well not really, you get into a fight with Talbot and it's an alright fight but doesn't truly feel like a boss battle, I also wanted to say that the fighting mechanics in this game have changed from the first two, in the first two you could run up to the opponent and simply by pressing square you would knock your opponent out. Sure it's unrealistic but is this really a realistic game, I prefer number 1 and 2's mechanics for fighting, on this one you have to continue to punch the enemy and you most also dodge their attacks, and overall it's alright but you also are forced to fight certain enemy's because they have armor on that will protect them from gun fire. This would be alright if they didn't come after you in a fire fight and you are open to fire when you are fighting them. The ending is alright nothing really special overall the story just wasn't that well developed and I just didn't enjoy it that much.
Overall Uncharted 3 just wasn't that enjoyable for me I just felt that It didn't live up to it's first two installment's the puzzle solving isn't as good, I'm not a fan of the new mechanics when it comes to fighting, and the story just didn't impress me as much as the first two. I'm not saying this game is bad it just isn't close to as good as the 2nd one and still not as good as the first one.
