I love these games.
Uncharted as a series was recommended to me by a friend. Initially, after moving to PS4, I’d only intended to start off with the fourth game but I was urged to play the first three games beforehand, and I’m very glad I did.
The first game, mechanically speaking, is still quite clumsy – I found myself making poor Nathan Drake fall to his death far too many times to count – but narratively speaking, it was like a hilarious blend of Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider.
The second game improved on the mechanics and the plotline was superb. Visually stunning sets to explore and make our way around, and Nathan Drake’s character continued to develop.
The third game was a bit more confusing but ultimately a lot of fun, and completed my absolute emotional investment in Nathan’s story and character.
Two points off for always making me run towards the camera to outrun various disasters. I CAN’T COPE WITH THAT SORT OF STRESS IN MY LIFE.
