Honestly, who doesn't like unicycles?

User Rating: 9.2 | Uniracers SNES
Uniracers/Unirally is a fun little, well, basically racing game, where you go from right to left, left to right, up-down and surprise, down-up. You could basically see it as excite bike for the SNES, just completely different. However, not only do you race, but you also do tricks in order to pick up speed, and this becomes an essential part of the game. Not only do you have to pull off tricks, but you have to do it precisely at the right time, or else you'll come to a crashing halt.
What makes this so fun, is also what sometimes makes it frustrating, especially on the harder levels. It sometimes becomes really hard to pull off the trick at the correct, and when you fail, you pretty much lose at the hardest level. However on the easier levels this is by far not a problem, as you have many chances to overtake the opponent.
The game doesn't only consists of racing levels, but also stages where the only thing you have to do is tricks. Again on the easiest, this is very easy to complete and on the hardest it is almost impossible. But this is a great part of the game, and does give a little variation from the racing, because you don't have to worry about an opponent.
The graphics are bright and colourful, and the unicycles very well animated, they really come to life. For an example if you win, your unicycle will begin to jump joyfully, and likewise if you lose he'll hang with his head. What is also impressive with this game is there is a real sense of speed, particular when you get up to the high speeds.
The sound is just for fine for what it is, not that particularly noticeable, but not a nuisance either. So this is by¨far the best racing game for any console, with not only great singleplayer, but also multiplayer gameplay.
