Unreal 2 The Awakening is a port from the PC version that was released about a year ago, and is now available for the xbox. Sadly this game is far worse than its PC counterpart and lacks multiplayer options, a short campaign, and most importantly fun. In this version, the developers had to tune down the graphics since it is now on the xbox, sadly porting this game makes the graphics look atrocious and they werent to good to begin with. Textures are blurryer, and the polygon count is terrible. Also, if this isnt enough to change your mind about this game, the game suffers from awful animations and a bad framerate. Also the sound affect and music arent great either, the voice acting isnt bad but isnt great either. The single player hasnt changed much from the PC version, there are 2 difficulty levels, normal and hard. Which really mean very easy and easy. The combat in this game isnt that great at all, enemy AI is awful, and the arersenal of weapons in the game is nothing special. Weapons rang from assault rifles to heavy rocket launchers. Like I said before this game is normal and hard but really is very easy and easy, so shooter fans will have no trouble blowing through the game. On multiplayer, the max players is up to 12 with xbox live and system link. The modes are standard like CTF games and deathmatches. This may sound good on paper, but the multiplayer in this game is just down right bad. A problem with live and system link is that lag which affects players. In many ways, this game takes the good things from the PC version and sucks it out of it. Simply if you own the game for the PC then you dont need this game. If you're looking for a good example of a port, then this game isnt it ... not even by a longshot. If your looking for a decent port that doesnt SUCK the fun from the PC version then I'd suggest a game like Doom 3. So I dont think I need to say anymore, but just DONT PLAY THIS GAME!!!
