Unreal Tournament was a game that came free on a disc and I used to play this for a while on my parents new computer. Its an amazing engine coming from quake (but with a redesigned graphics engine) Smoother than Quake, Speedier than Quake and you can see further than in Quake. The difference too is that whilst quake had single and multiplayer. Unreal tournament was only a multi player combat game. First person Perspective shoot em up with the option to play against CPUs but essential nothing more than an arena full of combatants. The idea was complex, the gameplay was simple. It was a great game that was spawned from Unreal, and lead to other Unreal games being released. I enjoyed the playing through the tournament. Arming up and employing different tactics to coherse the enemy out or to just go in fighting. There was no real looking after your team mates in the CPU action, it was just if they suffered you played harder and sharper. The multiplayer games were interesting and good fun often being hampered by the "tactics" of a few but the general polulace of Unreal Tournament knew what a real scrap was about.
