A bland, unoriginal title with the spark still gleaming.

Untold Legends : Brotherhood of The Blade was an instant eye catcher. A PSP version of the great Baldurs Gate : DA and CON? This must be a winner. However, it didn't quite live up to the console versions.

The graphics are not horrible, yet not at there best at the same time. The visuals are nice and easy to look at, but thats it. Nothing cacthes the eye and nothing spectacular shows up graphically. Unfortuantely we all know that the graphics on these titles can be vastly, vastly better.

The gameplay remains the same as it's console fathers. Alot of X button mashing and a potion or too with the right and left shoulder buttons. Yet this has always worked really well in these titles, and remains to do so in UL.

The joy of these titles is the character creation, the unique feel you get from making your own character from a variety of looks, names and items you attain throughout the game. Unfortunately thats cut horribly short, with only four classes to choose from and not as much unique character variation. Making you feel like another pawn in the ranks.

The sound is rather dissapointing. There is again; Nothing new, nothing catching, nothing that'll have you off your feet or feeling into the game more deeply. This is a shame as most of the other titles provided some amazing sound effects and music. And of course; We were without NPC speech. Which was a great dissapointment.

Yet, with all these downfalls, it remains addictive. You can pick it up and treasure hunt for hours at a time. The campaign mode; though bland and basic is enjoyable too. Your rushed all around the world to slay things, though it sounds boring you really get into it.

It's most deffinately a title worth picking up while we await the release of the sequel. A portable CON/DA is always going to be a good thing, even if it's missing a large chunk of what made it special to start with.

So; all in all. A mini treasure hunt with an addictive kick in it. With alot of lacking departments for veteran gamers.
