Urban Reign is a pretty standard beat 'em up. It has 100 missions of fighting your way through street gangs and organized crime gangs. Overall has a pretty cheesy storyline, rather boring. There's nothing that really grabs your attention to it. Fighting mechanics are good. You get points after each fight, so you can upgrade your character. Missions are only one brawl. Usually your character up against 4 enemies. You can also pick a partner. Which they really are just a beating post for the bad guys. Sometimes you just have to beat all the enemies, other times you have a time limit in which you beat them. Also you have to protect your partner so they don't die to win a brawl. 100 missions of this can get extremely repeative. Occasional boss fight here and there. The game can get really frustrating, especially after mission 90. If ya want a beat 'em up with no storyline worth mentioning but a decent fighting system, rent it. I wouldn't say go out and drop 50 bucks on this game. Go pick up The Warriors for the best beat 'em up out there. There is a multiplayer. Sets up pretty much like a fighting game, but if that's what you want go get Tekken 5 or Soul Calibur III. Those games have much better fighting mechanics and better multiplayer.
