I very seldom come here anymore, my appetite for gaming has decreased with age or disillusionment, Large gaming companies producing the biggest game features, the best game graphics yet the poorest game stories. Yet here is a game that completely destroys all competition in it's simplicity and beauty and solid storyline. Sure, a world war 1 game is pretty easy to get a good story out of but the approach by Ubisoft is very original.
Ubi could easily have decided to wow us with graphics and terrorise us with gruesome details of the great war through the eyes of a participant. It would have been far more of a money spinner. Instead they've release a beautifully rendered animation style game. a 2D platform puzzle that offers great fun a few laughs and some enlightenment regarding a very dark part of human history. This is one of the most tasteful, respectful works of art I've ever played through.
Ubisoft has earned my respect with this. It really is something you should play at least once.
