An amazing game which might interest those who liked the previous VP game.
The game has amazing graphics and the battles aren't too shabby. The story is pretty amazing as well and it has a lot of cut-scenes and a few videos. Also, the dungeons are well-made and the enemies are designed very well. The only issue is that Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria is an extremely difficult game in which if you don't level up very often you are going to have a hard time finishing it.
The battle system is exactly the same as the first VP game on PSX, so those who have already played that won't have much trouble with the battles. But even that is still not enough to win. The key in winning the battles is:
1) to know the enemy weaknesses and attributes and
2) to equip the appropriate weapon to deal with the enemy.
For example, to do well against an enemy from the Scaled family you'll need to equip Harpe, a sword which is strong against scaled monsters.
In this game, the money you need for the adventure is called OTH. In order to obtain a weapons such as the one i mentioned earlier you are going to need several things besides money. Those things are the items and loot the monsters drop each time you kill them. After you gather the necessary amount of items, loot and money you go to an armory and check the last list of items far to the right. You may notice that for some items, the ingredients they require are highlighted with yellow. Those are the items you already possess in your inventory. If you happen to have all the items required to synthesize the the weapon or armor you want all you have to do is sell them. You'll know how many to sell by checking the left number, the right one is the quantity of the item in your inventory. So, after you sell the necessary amount of items the synthesized item becomes available for selling, it might be expensive so make sure you don't waste too much money.
The game also has a secret dungeon which contains powerful enemies and great items. One last thing; Every time you finish the game, the next time you choose New Game the difficulty will rise a bit.
