Despite it feeling a lot like Devil May Cry, Van Helsing is worth checking out.

I loved the movie. It was the perfect mix of Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Wolf Man. When I heard of a game, I went to Blockbuster and rented it. The gameplay feels way too much like Devil May Cry and there are scenes in the game that have nothing to do with the movie like when you have to fight Igor in the forest and when you see the ghost of Anna's father. I didn't like how the game gave you a chaingun and lightning gun because that really killed the feeling of being in the medieval time. I remember when you see a chain gun in the movie and Van Helsing says "Gotta have one of those." The graphics are decent to say the least, but storyline is nothing like the movie, which destroyed the game. The actors in the movie don't even voice act in this game and the music gives a gothic feeling, which I didn't like too much. Personally, this is a game worth checking out, but rent it first, because I doubt that it's buyable.
