Vanquish is a nonstop action event that is well worth the trip, just wish the trip was a little longer.

Vanquish is an all out action experience that is well worth the trip. As a third person shooter this game is must have for any action junkie video gamer. Equipped with an advanced A.R.S suit which enables your character to move at lightning speed but at the same time enables a slow motion effect to allow for better aiming during quick movements, you play as DARPA agent Sam Gideon in an attempt to stop a terrorist uprising from a Russian faction called the Order of the Red Star. You must fight your way through a futurist Space Colony that has been attacked by automated robots in attempts to stop the Red Stars attack on the US.
This game borrows some elements from other games such as Gears of War utilizing a duck and cover method but the addition of the A.R.S suit makes firefights extremely intense and the enemies range from the size of beach ball to the size of a sky scraper. The action never stops and the boss fights are incredible. The game mechanics are smooth though there is a bit of a learning curve when picking up the controller for this game the first time. Sound effects are incredible and the voice acting is decent and it's remarkable how much Sam resembles young Solid Snake complete with smoking habit. The only down side to this game is the length, which is about 8hrs. Over all this game is great and highly recommended for anyone that enjoys a high paced shooter with huge enemies and constant massive explosions.
