Just forget what the critics have been saying. It's all about stealth and WWII atmosphere. A must for fans of the genre.

You probably have read in other places and seen that this game hasn't scored well. What I can say about it as a fan of WWII and stealth based games, is that this game has been reviewed by telling only the bad aspects of it. This game has amazing lightning and atmosphere, the places you visit feel authentic WWII locations and most importantly you get immersed into the experience as you play.

Is it a simple game? Yes, it is. BUT the simplicity here comes from not pulling exaggerated stunts and go guns blazing all around. It comes from simple stealth mechanics that are still enjoyable by all means.

Just to close it down, This game was badly received by critics because we live in the era of "STAR" games... Big money spent, big adds, big HYPE... this is a small German developed game with no big budget and with no hype... So, why should you play it? because it is fun, it has a nice story, settings and graphics. Not because everybody is talking and there are adds everywhere.

If you are a true gamer and you loved games like Thief or Splinter Cell there is a great chance of having a blast playing Velvet Assassin.
